MARINE CPL. KELSEE LAINHART (REPRESENTING THE WOUNDED IN ACTION)

“PATRIOTS REMEMBERED, AFGHANISTAN 8-26-21” is a memorial installation of contemporary art to remember and honor the fallen soldiers and the wounded in service from the Afghanistan withdrawal. The installation consists of 15 paintings on canvas, acrylic based with oil finishes, 16” x 20”. This work spans a space of 94 inches x 64 inches. Thirteen of these paintings are in the image of the fallen soldiers, one of the paintings represents the 18 servicewomen and men who were wounded in service. Many of them seriously. The title piece, is a painting of Nathan Hale. He was one of the first American Patriots, who risked his young life as a spy for Washington’s army. He was captured, and his last words were, “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.” These works are not for sale, and were created to remain together as an installation.
